Interest Group Activities

This is the place to be if you’re interested in one or more of the following activities. Just send along an email to alliance@scmaa.org to the attention of the contact person below and you’ll be able to get started right away. Do you have an idea for starting an Interest Group Activity? We would love to hear more about it from you!

Book club

The Alliance Book Club meets every other month, usually on a Monday at a member's house. We invite all Alliance members and those thinking about becoming members to join us. Of course, we'll also be enjoying some dessert and wine. Get ready for some great discussions and lots of laughs.

To see the current book, refer to the Upcoming Events section on the Home page.

For further information, contact Meta Lightfoot or by phone: cell - 707-478-0960, home - 707-526-9748.

Play group

Welcome to our Play Group! It's open to any Alliance family. This group is for families with young children of various ages and meet-ups are about once a month on various days and places. Come check it out and you'll agree that it's a great way to get to know and connect with other medical families. If you are interested in joining, please contact: Melissa Kushnaryov-Ricter or Elizabeth Bauer.

Genealogy group

Tracing your family roots has never been more fun.

We meet on the third Wednesday of the month at the Family History Center at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1725 Peterson Lane at 1:00 pm, where there are several computers and many resources available.

Judy Stephens works there at that time, and also 2 or 3 other workers who are very knowledgeable. We can help each other, receive help from the staff, or work alone on our own projects.

FAMILY HISTORY CENTER: Take Guerneville Rd. west to Peterson Lane, turn right, and the church will be on your left. Turn left into the first parking lot and you will see the entrance midway back.

Movie group

Escape for a couple of hours and take in a movie. Send email message to alliance@scmaa.org to Charlene's attention for more information.
